Change of Things
So, this was a very "move fast break things" kinda project. I started it when I hadn't used Unity for maybe nine months or so, and I just wanted to see if it worked. It, I think, kinda did. Yet, this was obviously unfinished. Also, the main reason I uploaded it here was basically to be able to show a friend how it looked, because when I tried to send a video of this game over WhatsApp, the compression messed up my video. So here we are.
Interestingly, after I uploaded this game, it didn't feel like it left me. I wanted to work on it more. This is a new feeling for me. I guess something inside me believes in the project or just not having a deadline or a salary expectation prevents me from resenting it, I don't know. Whatever it is, I am still working on it. I also changed the game engine I am using. I am learning Godot now, because I couldn't figure out 2D collisions in Unity. Somehow stuff went through other stuff even though they were/should be on the same plane. I figured, using an engine with a dedicated 2D engine is probably better. Also, using Godot is something I had in my mind for a long time because I don't want to be in the shackles of Unity. I don't really like the engine. Many people created and create many very good games with it, I made some bad ones with it - completely my fault- but it is time to go Open Source I guess.
So yeah, the game is being remade right now, I am following a tutorial and probably, if things go well you will see the results. However, until then - I cannot say when - the inital product will stay as it is.
A game where you cannot even die.
P.S.: Immediately after publishing this text I once again realized that I marked the game as a "prototype". I am really being hard on myself, gotta stop doing that.
